Which Paris neighbourhood is most romantic for first-time couples?

The 7th and 8th arrondissements offer the classic Parisian postcard experience — Eiffel Tower in every direction, quiet streets, luxury hotels. Le Pavillon de la Reine in Le Marais is equally excellent for first-timers who want historic charm and walkability.

Should we splurge on a suite or save for romantic dinners?

Splurge on the room. You will spend mornings, intimate evenings and unplanned hours in your suite. Paris has extraordinary bistros at €15–30 per person — you can have genuinely unforgettable meals without Michelin prices.

Should we book a hotel with an Eiffel Tower view?

Eiffel Tower views are magical — especially for proposals and honeymoons. View rooms typically cost 40–60 percent more. For a once-in-a-lifetime trip: yes, splurge — Hôtel Plaza Athénée or Hôtel Raphael. For a more flexible budget, choose a hotel in the 7th arrondissement for nearby views without the premium.

When is the best time for a romantic Paris trip?

Shoulder seasons — April–June and September–October — offer mild weather, manageable crowds and easier restaurant reservations. Winter (November–February) is wonderfully romantic if you choose fireplace hotels. Avoid July–August — the crowds and heat work against romance.

Which hotels are best for surprise proposals in Paris?

Hôtel Plaza Athénée and Hôtel Raphael (post-March 2026) for dramatic Eiffel Tower backdrops — contact the concierge 2–3 weeks ahead for rose petals, photographer coordination and champagne setup. Hôtel Particulier Montmartre for intimate, private proposals in the secluded garden with only five suites.

Are these hotels LGBTQ+-friendly?

All luxury Paris hotels warmly welcome LGBTQ+ couples. Le Pavillon de la Reine is particularly notable — it is located in Le Marais, Paris's historic LGBTQ+ hub.
